This is an avant garde piece from German director Gwyn Van Jules. It's beautifully filmed and staged with an eerily sweet soundtrack. Abstract and indefinite, this short manages to touch very personally on the wonder of the new and the inevitability of destruction, utilizing a familiar set of standards brought out in a unique voice. As affecting a short as I've seen this year.
From the director: "This is my first film, shot in July 2009.
The English translation of the title is "Thus fades the glory."
